Being Singapore-founded gives OSIM a unique perspective on innovation. How does OSIM make wellness more engaging, turning it into a form of playful self-care rather than a routine?
At OSIM, we believe wellness should be enjoyable, indulgent, and inspiring—a natural part of everyday life. The uErgoh perfectly embodies this philosophy. If you could leave just one Hydroflux product in a time capsule for SG100 which would it be and why?
I guess it would have to be the Hydroflux H2300. It was the first tankless water purifier we brought in for Hydroflux Singapore. And back then, the idea of a tankless system was still very new. Most people were used to big, bulky dispensers. But the H2300 changed that. It marked the beginning of our journey toward making homes more space-efficient and stylish, without compromising on drinking water.
What’s something you did in the early days that no one saw but made all the difference today?
In the early days, we spent a lot of time talking to customers one-on-one. Listening closely to their pain points, like how frustrating it was to boil water every day, how they had no space in their kitchens. We took all that feedbacks and used it to shape our product line. It wasn’t glamorous, but those conversations helped us build a brand people actually needed. I think that made all the difference.
They said it was just a water dispenser. What did you see?
I saw opportunity. Years ago, with so many new homes being built and the shift toward modern, minimalist living, we knew Singaporeans would eventually look for smarter, more convenient home appliances. A water dispenser wasn’t just a dispenser to us, it was the start of a lifestyle shift toward healthier, easier living.
As we celebrate SG60, what’s your vision for how Singaporeans will experience hydration and healthy living in the next chapter?
I believe hydration will become even more personalised and seamlessly integrated into daily life. We’re looking at smart systems that not only dispense water, but also track your intake, suggest hydration goals, and sync with your lifestyle. At Hydroflux, our vision is to help Singaporeans change their daily habits: making healthy living more convenient, one cup at a time. That also means designing water purifiers that reduce clutter and fit beautifully into modern kitchens.
It’s not just about drinking clean water, it’s about making your home and lifestyle better, smarter, and simpler.
Tank or Tankless: what was your home setup before you started Hydroflux?
Tank. Definitely tank. That was the standard back then. But after switching to tankless, there was no turning back! It’s cleaner, more efficient, and fits so much better into a modern kitchen. That switch at home was part of what inspired us to bring tankless systems to more families.
