Shipments of tablets fall for the 13th straight quarter

The market for tablets does not look good. In the latest report from IDC, the market for tablets has declined for the 13th straight quarter.

It estimates that 49.6 million tablets were shipped in Q4 2017 as compared to 53.8 million tablets in the same quarter last year.

According to IDC, Apple still leads the tablet market with a market share of 26.6%.

IDC also said that Amazon has overtaken Samsung to be in second place. It shipped 7.7 million tablets in Q4 2017, which is a 48% increase over the 5.2 million units shipped in Q4 2016.
